About the car: BMW 1 Series E87 (1st generation, 2004-2011)
The BMW 1 Series E87 was produced from 2004 to 2011, as a 5-door hatchback. In March 2007 the 5-door version received a facelift. The 3-door version has the code E81, not E87, and was produced from July 2007 to 2012.
On the E87 the roof is plain, with no factory roof rails, so the Menabo Tema bars are fitted directly to the body, with a kit made for the car. For correct fitting, check that the kit matches the exact version of the car. The maximum roof load given in the car's manual must not be lower than that of the bars.

The set includes 2 aluminium bars, 4 feet, 4 fixings, 4 locks with keys and an Allen key. The bars are treated with rubberised, anti-corrosion paint for a longer life.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Dimensions: 1,120 mm long, 30 mm high, 48 mm wide, weight 4.9 kg.
- Maximum load 75 kg. Accessories fitted on the bars, such as a rack or box, are subtracted from this limit.
- Accessories with a T-track fitting fix in the 20 mm channel. If the accessory has no T-track fitting, you can use the U-bolt fitting around the outside of the bar.
- Each set has a lock with keys, and the Allen key in the package is enough for fitting.
- With the accessories fitted, the height of the car increases. Check before underground car parks or barriers.
- The instruction manual is included in the box. The maximum load may differ depending on the make and model of the car, so check the car's manual.
