About the car: Chrysler 300C first generation (LX)

The first-generation Chrysler 300C is based on the LX platform, with rear-wheel drive. Production started in January 2004, for the 2005 model year, and from June 2005 part of the cars were assembled at Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria. The model was built until 2010. The car in this fitting is a black 4-door saloon with the winged 300C badge.

The photo shows a towbar fitted, but the Main attaches to the tailgate or boot lid, not to the towbar. For a saloon with a boot, a tailgate rack is the direct option; for a towbar bike rack there is a different product category.

Technical details and what to watch for

  • Capacity: the maximum supported weight is 45 kg, and the bikes you carry must stay within this limit.
  • Compatibility: The Main takes fat bikes, but does not take e-bikes. For electric bikes (e-bikes) you can look at the towbar-mounted bike racks category and check on each model's page whether it accepts this type of bike.
  • Fitting: fitting is quick, with no special keys. Place the rack on the tailgate or boot lid, tighten the straps at the six points and check stability by moving it.
  • Anti-theft lock: the rack has no anti-theft lock, and the bikes do not come with one, so think about separate protection.
  • Visibility: after fitting, check that the rear lights and number plate stay visible.
  • City bikes: for city bikes and racing bikes, the guide to bike racks for city bikes and racing bikes will help you choose.
