This Dacia Logan I Saloon left our shop with Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars Menabo Tema Aluminium and with a roof box Menabo Marathon Dark 400 on top. The complete fitting was done in the SuportBicicleta.ro shop at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Logan I (L90), Saloon 2004-2012
The Dacia Logan I, code L90, came on the market in 2004 (official launch in June, sales from September) and was built in Romania until 2012, on the Dacia B0 platform. The range included the 4-door Saloon, the estate, the van version and the pick-up, and on 1 July 2008 the Dacia New Logan facelift was announced. The roof bars in this fitting are for the 4-door Saloon, 2004-2012 model.
Because the roof of the Logan Saloon has no roof rails, a roof box needs roof bars that fit directly onto the roof. The Logan I manual gives 80 kg as the load allowed on the roof bars, including the supports. With a roof box, the weight of the roof bars and of the empty box matters too, not just the luggage put inside.
What we fitted on this Logan
The bars are Menabo Tema Aluminium for the Dacia Logan, 4-door, 2004-2012 model, with an aerodynamic oval profile and a 20 mm track on top. The pack contains 4 dedicated fittings, 4 feet, 2 aluminium roof bars, 4 locks with keys and an Allen key. The set is TÜV and ISO approved.
On them we placed the Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box, made of matt black ABS plastic, with a volume of 400 litres and an anti-theft lock. The box comes with two fittings included, a 20 mm T-bolt and a 60 mm U-bolt, and on Tema roof bars the T-bolt fitting can be used, in the track of the bar. The product sheet of the box lists the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars as compatible, and the box opens on one side.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Menabo Tema roof bars: 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high, 48 mm wide, 5.2 kg weight, 50 kg capacity.
- Menabo Marathon Dark 400 box: 400 litres, 13.2 kg own weight, 50 kg maximum load.
- Calculation: the roof bars carry 50 kg and the empty box weighs 13.2 kg, so you can put at most 36.8 kg in the box, even though the box itself accepts 50 kg. Roof bars, box and luggage thus add up to at most 55.2 kg, under the 80 kg allowed on the roof of the Logan I.

- With a box on the roof the car becomes noticeably taller: check the total height before entering underground car parks or garages.

Yes, the product sheet of the Menabo Marathon Dark 400 box lists the Menabo Tema Aluminium and Tema Steel roof bars as compatible. The box includes 20 mm T-bolt fittings, suited to the 20 mm track of the Tema roof bar, and 60 mm U-bolt fittings.
