For trips with a lot of luggage we equipped this Dacia Sandero Stepway II (B52) with Menabo Sherman Silver roof bars and with the roof box Menabo Marathon Dark 400. Everything was fitted in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Sandero Stepway II (B52)
The second-generation Dacia Sandero has the code B52 and uses the Dacia M0 platform. It was shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2012, where the new Stepway also made its debut, and it was produced in Romania from 2012 to 2020. In November 2016 it received a facelift, with LED daytime running lights and redesigned rear lights.
On the roof, the Stepway II has satin chrome roof rails that run the full length of the roof. The official height of 1,618 mm already includes these rails. For us this means a simple base: roof bars attach directly to the roof rails, and the Menabo Sherman Silver set chosen here is listed for the Sandero Stepway 2013-2020.
What we fitted on this Stepway
Menabo Sherman Silver roof bars for Dacia Sandero Stepway 2013-2020 are the improved version of the Menabo Brio: they have a new design and a rubber gasket on the underside of the aluminium bar. The profile is oval, the length 1,200 mm, the height 27 mm and the width 47 mm. They have a standard 20 mm T-track along the whole length, anti-theft locks and a maximum load of 90 kg, with TÜV and ISO/PAS 11154:2006 testing and DIN 75302 conformity.
On them we put the Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box, made of matt black ABS plastic, with a volume of 400 L, a lock and opening on the right. The box comes with two types of fitting included: 60 mm U-bolt and 20 mm T-track. The T-track fitting goes straight into the 20 mm channel of the Sherman bars, so no adapter is needed.

Specifications and tips
- The Menabo Marathon Dark 400 box weighs 13.2 kg. Of the 90 kg capacity of the Sherman Silver bars, 76.8 kg remains, and you can put up to 50 kg in the box.
- Fully loaded, the box puts 63.2 kg on the bars (13.2 kg plus 50 kg), under the limit of the bars. The maximum roof load of the Sandero Stepway II is checked in the car manual.
- The starting height is 1,618 mm (Stepway II with roof rails); the bars and the box add to it, so check the height of your garage or car park before you set off.
- The bars come assembled, with an Allen key included, and the fitting instructions are in the box with the bars. For the box, the instructions and specifications are on the product page.
