Menabo Tema Steel roof bars for Fiat 500 (2007 generation), 3-door, 2015+ model

On a 3-door Fiat 500, 2015+ model, we fitted a set of Menabo Tema Steel roof bars, in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania. The bars attach to the car body, because the car has no roof rails.

About the car: Fiat 500 (Type 312), 3-door

The 2007 Fiat 500, with internal code Type 312, has a 3-door hatchback body, and the convertible version has 2 doors. The platform is a widened version of the Fiat Mini platform, and the cars are built at the Tychy plant in Poland, between 2007 and 2024.

The model received a facelift for model year 2016, with a new grille and headlights with LED daytime running lights. On the car in the photo the roof has no roof rails, so the Tema bars attach to the car body, with clamps on the door frames. This is the type of roof the Tema bars are designed for.

What we fitted on this Fiat 500

We fitted the Menabo Tema Steel roof bars for Fiat 500, 3-door, 2015+ model. The set has 2 steel bars with an oval, aerodynamic profile, 1,120 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide.

The bars are black, with a rubberised coating and anti-corrosion treatment, and the set includes 4 locks with keys and the Allen key. Accessories attach with the classic U-bolt fitting, around the outside of the bar. You can fit a bike rack, roof box, ski rack or kayak & canoe roof rack on them.

Technical details and what to watch for

• The roof bars carry 50 kg, including the weight of the accessories. If you fit a 10 kg accessory, that leaves 40 kg for luggage.
• The roof bar set weighs 5.3 kg.
• The height of the car increases with accessories fitted. Measure the total height before you use car parks with barriers or underground car parks.
• The bars have no T-track on top, so accessories are fixed with a U-bolt fitting, around the outside of the bar. Before buying, check that the accessory has a U-bolt fitting.
• The maximum load may differ depending on the make and model of the car. Check the specifications given by the car manufacturer.
• The instruction manual is included in the box. Fitting is done with the Allen key in the pack, with no other tools.
