The 5-door Kia Ceed hatchback is the tailgate version of the third-generation Kia Ceed, with internal code CD. This generation was produced between May 2018 and January 2026. Since January 2026, the model that replaced the Ceed hatchback is the K4.
The car in the fitting has no factory roof rails, so the Menabo Tema roof bars sit on feet attached directly to the body. Before choosing roof bars, check whether your car has roof rails, because there is also a Kia Ceed SportsWagon with integrated rails, which uses a different system.
What we fitted on this Kia Ceed hatchback
The bars are Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars, with an oval, aerodynamic profile, 1,300 mm long and 30 mm high, with a 20 mm T-track on top. The set contains two bars, four feet, four fittings with locks and the Allen key. The roof bars are TÜV and ISO approved. The instruction manual is included in the box.
On the Tema roof bars you can fit Fabbri Nova 340 Grey roof box, with a volume of 340 litres, an anti-theft lock and opening on one side. It attaches with an 80 mm U-bolt fitting, and the Allen keys needed are in the package, with no special tools. The box is TÜV and City Crash tested.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Bar capacity: 50 kg in total. The Fabbri Nova 340 box weighs 11 kg, so of this total 39 kg remain for luggage or other accessories.
- Box capacity: 75 kg, but the roof bars limit the total to 50 kg, so the lower figure is the one that counts.
- Anti-theft lock: the box has an anti-theft lock with a special key, and the Tema roof bars have locks with keys.
- Height: with the box fitted, the height of the car increases by the 44 cm height of the box. Check before entering underground car parks or low underpasses.
- Approvals: the box is TÜV tested and City Crash tested, and the Tema roof bars are TÜV and ISO approved.
- Maximum load: the limit of the roof bars can differ by car make and model, so consult the technical specifications of the car manufacturer.
