About the car: Kia Stonic, first generation (YB)
The Stonic is a 5-door crossover hatchback with the internal code YB. The model has been built since 2017 and is still in production, on the Hyundai-Kia GB platform. The second facelift was presented on 1 September 2025, and in 2021, depending on the market, it was offered in up to 15 two-tone combinations of body and roof.
On the cars fitted, the Stonic has no factory roof rails. That is why the roof bars attach directly to the bodywork, in the door frames, and the box fixes to the bars, not directly to the roof. So the fitting depends first of all on the roof bar set chosen for the Stonic.
What we fitted on this Kia Stonic
The Menabo Marathon Dark 400 has a volume of 400 litres, is made of matt black ABS plastic and has an anti-theft lock. The box weighs 13.2 kg, and the maximum load is 50 kg. The 60 mm U-bolt and 20 mm T-track fittings are included, and the 80 mm U-bolt fitting is optional. It opens on one side.
The Menabo Tema Aluminium are 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide, with an oval profile. The metal parts are finished with a rubberised anti-corrosion coating, and on top there is a 20 mm track. The set includes 4 anti-theft locks with keys. They carry 50 kg and are TÜV and ISO approved.

Technical details and what to watch for
- The Tema set includes 2 bars, 4 fitting kits for the Kia Stonic, 4 feet, 4 anti-theft locks with keys and an Allen key.
- The bars weigh 5.2 kg according to the data sheet, and the maximum load is 50 kg.
- The 13.2 kg weight of the box is subtracted from the load of the bars. What remains is for luggage, so in this case no more than 36.8 kg.
- If your accessory does not have a T-track fitting, you can use the U-bolt fitting around the outside of the Tema bar.
- The total height of the car increases with the box fitted. Check the height before underground car parks or barriers.
