About the car: Mazda CX-30, generation 1 (DM)
The Mazda CX-30 is a compact 5-door crossover, presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019 and built on the fourth-generation Mazda3. Mazda announced that sales would start in Europe first, in summer 2019, and model years start with 2020.
The car has a normal roof, without factory roof rails, which can also be seen in the photos of the fitting. The Menabo Tema roof bars attach with a kit on the door frames, so it is important that every part is the right one for the CX-30.
What we fitted on this Mazda CX-30
The bars are Menabo Tema Steel roof bars for the Mazda CX-30, 5-door, 2019+ model, made of black steel, 1,300 mm long, 48 mm wide and 30 mm high. There are 2 bars, with 4 fitting kits, 4 feet and 4 anti-theft locks with keys. The bars have no T-track on the top, so accessories attach with the classic U-bolt fitting on the outside of the bar.
On them we fitted the black Carbon Look 320 L roof box. It has 320 litres, a load capacity of 55 kg, an 80 mm U-bolt fitting, a lock and opens on one side. The roof box is fixed on the outside of the bar, and you will find the fitting video below.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Menabo Tema Steel roof bars: steel, black, 1,300 mm long, 48 mm wide, 30 mm high, anti-theft locks included.
- Carbon Look 320 L roof box: volume 320 litres, plastic, matt black with a carbon texture, opens on one side, length 131 cm, height 34 cm.
- Capacity: the bars carry 50 kg, and the roof box has its own limit of 55 kg. The weight of the empty roof box is deducted from the capacity of the bars, so less is left for luggage.
- Compatibility: the Carbon Look 320 L roof box is compatible with the Menabo Tema Steel bars and with the aluminium ones, according to the product specifications.
- Height: with the box fitted, the car becomes taller. Check it before underground car parks or garages.
