We fitted a set of Menabo Tema roof bars and a Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box on a Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246 in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania. About the car: Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246 was built from November 2011 to December 2018, with series production starting in Rastatt, Germany. It is a 5-door hatchback, and the facelift was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014. The model that replaced the W246 is the W247, launched in October 2018.

Menabo Tema Aluminium has 2 aluminium roof bars, 1,120 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide, with an oval profile. The 20 mm T-track on top lets you fit bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks. The Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box has a volume of 400 litres, in matt black ABS plastic. It weighs 13.2 kg and comes with the 60 mm U-bolt system and the 20 mm T-track system included. Technical details and what to watch for
- Tema: maximum load 75 kg, fixed directly onto the roof with the dedicated kit, TÜV and ISO approved.
- Useful sum: the Marathon box weighs 13.2 kg, so of the 75 kg limit of the roof bars, about 61.8 kg remain. The box itself holds 50 kg of luggage.
- Height: with the box on the roof bars, the height of the car increases; check the height limit of underground car parks or barriers before you set off.
- Optional fitting: an 80 mm U-bolt system is also available for the box, as an optional extra.
- Tema fitting: the instruction manual is included in the package, and the product page has a video showing how to fit the feet.
