We fitted Menabo Delta Black roof bars and a Menabo Marathon 320 roof box on an Opel Crossland X 2017-2020 at the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom in Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Opel Crossland X (2017-2020)

Opel sold the Crossland from 2017 to 2024 as a 5-door SUV with a subcompact body. The 2017-2020 version was called the Crossland X; after the 2020 facelift the model was renamed the Opel Crossland, without the X. Production stopped in July 2024 at the Zaragoza plant (Spain).

The roof decides the type of fitting. Some versions, the top one, have raised silver roof rails, but not every car has them. The Delta Black set fixes directly to the body and is for cars without factory roof rails. The Opel manual for the Crossland X gives a maximum roof load of 60 kg, which includes the weight of the roof rack.

What we fitted on this Crossland X

The Menabo Delta Black for Opel Crossland X, 5-door, 2017-2020 are 1,370 mm long, 30 mm high and 60 mm wide, made of black aluminium. They fix to the body with the system made for the car, and the top has a 20 mm T-track for accessories with a T-track fitting.

The Menabo Marathon Dark 320 holds 320 L, carries up to 50 kg and weighs 11 kg. It opens on the right, has a lock, and the 60 mm U-bolt fitting is included. The roof box is compatible with Menabo Delta roof bars, so no adapters are needed.

Useful fitting details

• Bars: maximum load 50 kg, length 1,370 mm, height 30 mm, width 60 mm, 2 roof bars and 4 feet.
• Box: 320 L, maximum load 50 kg, weight 11 kg, opens on the right, lockable.
• Box fitting: the 60 mm U-bolt fitting is included. The 80 mm U-bolt fitting and the 20 mm T-track fitting can be ordered as options.
• Calculation: subtract the weight of the roof box (11 kg) and of the roof bars from the 60 kg roof load, then add the luggage.
• Fitting order: roof bars on the body first, then the roof box on the bars. After fitting, check that nothing moves.
• Height: with the box fitted, the car becomes taller. Check the height before height barriers or underground car parks.
• Instructions: for the roof bars, the instruction manual is included in the package. For the box, you will find the fitting instructions below, as a PDF. The Delta set comes with an Allen key.
