About the car: Opel Insignia A, 4-door saloon
The Insignia A, with the code G09, was built between October 2008 and April 2017. The major facelift came in June 2013, and the 4-door saloon body was available alongside the liftback and the estate. The Insignia was the first production model built on the GM Epsilon II platform.
The saloon has no factory roof rails. The Opel manual shows the mounting points in the frame of each door, for the saloon and the liftback. The K39 set fixes to the body with the fitting system made for the car, not on roof rails, so check the body type before you order.
What we fitted on this Opel Insignia
K39 roof bars are made of black steel, 1,300 mm long, 20 mm high and 30 mm wide. They have a maximum load of 55 kg and are TÜV and ISO approved, and the set includes 2 bars, 4 fixings, 4 feet and the Allen key. The bars have a protective plastic layer, and the metal parts have rubberised paint.
On K39 bars you can fit accessories with a standard U-bolt fitting of at least 30 mm, such as bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks. The bars have no channel on top and no lock, so choose accessories that fix with a U-bolt.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Capacity: 55 kg per set. Accessories and luggage fitted on the bars are subtracted from this figure.
- Fitting: accessories must have a standard U-bolt fitting of at least 30 mm. T-track fittings do not fit, because the bars have no channel.
- Dimensions: 1,300 mm long, 20 mm high and 30 mm wide. The set weighs 4 kg.
- Anti-theft lock: the set has no lock. If you leave the car unattended, keep this in mind when you choose accessories.
- Fitting: the instruction manual is included in the pack. Follow its steps before first use.
- Height: an accessory fitted on the bars raises the height of the car. Check the total height before garages or car parks with a barrier.
