About the car: Peugeot 308 SW, generation 2 (T9)
The Peugeot 308 SW belongs to the second generation, with the internal code T9, built from June 2013 to May 2021 on the PSA EMP2 V1 platform. The SW version was presented in January 2014, with a public debut in Geneva in March, and sales began in the spring of the same year. It is 4,585 mm long and has a 2,730 mm wheelbase.
In the photos of this post, the roof of this car has no roof rails. The feet of the Menabo Tema roof bars sit on the roof, next to the chrome window trim, and the fixing is made on the door frame. A black Menabo box is fitted on the roof bars. For this reason, the fixing kit must be the one dedicated to the 308 SW, 5-door, 2014+ model.
What we fitted on this Peugeot 308 SW
The bars are Menabo Tema Aluminium for Peugeot 308 SW, 5-door, 2014+ model, with a length of 1,300 mm, a height of 30 mm and a width of 48 mm. On the top side they have a 20 mm channel for accessories with T-track fixing, and the oval profile reduces air resistance. The set weighs 5.2 kg and includes 2 roof bars, 4 fixing systems, 4 feet, 4 anti-theft locks with keys and an Allen key.
The box is the Menabo Marathon Dark 400, matt black in colour, with a volume of 400 litres and a length of 165 cm. It is made of ABS plastic, weighs 13.2 kg, has a lock and comes with a 60 mm U-bolt and a 20 mm T-track fitting. An 80 mm U-bolt is optional. The product is compatible with the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Capacity: the Tema roof bars carry 50 kg. The 13.2 kg of the box are deducted from this limit, which leaves about 36.8 kg for luggage.
- Car height: with the box fitted, the car becomes taller. Check the total height before a garage or an underground car park.
- Fitting the box: the box fixes to the roof bars with the 60 mm U-bolt or the 20 mm T-track fitting from the pack. You will find the fitting instructions below as a PDF.
