About the car: Porsche Macan 95B, first generation

The Porsche Macan has the internal code 95B and was built from February 2014 until 2026 as a 5-door SUV. It shares its platform and wheelbase with the first-generation Audi Q5 and was built in Leipzig, Germany, alongside the Panamera. The update for the 2019 model year was presented in July 2018 in Shanghai, and from 2024 the second generation is electric only.

The car in the photo has integrated silver roof rails, flush with the roof from the factory, and the daytime running lights sit in the air intakes, with round fog lights, so it is from before the 2018 update. The Tiger roof bars clamp onto these roof rails, not directly onto the body, so the type of roof rails decides the fitting. The set is designed for flush roof rails, so first check that the car has this type.

What we fitted on this Porsche Macan 95B

The Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars are made of aluminium, 1,200 mm long and 28 mm high, and have an aerodynamic oval profile that reduces noise. They have a 20 mm track along the whole length for T-bolt accessories and carry 75 kg. The set includes 2 roof bars, 4 pre-assembled feet for the integrated rails and an Allen key. The roof bars are TÜV tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006 and comply with DIN 75302.

The Menabo Diamond 450 Black roof box has a volume of 450 litres, is made of glossy black ABS and has a capacity of 75 kg. It weighs 18 kg and attaches to the Tiger roof bars with the 20 mm T-bolt fitting included in the pack, and the Quick Fix system makes fitting quick. It opens on one side, and the box has an integrated anti-theft lock. For the reasons why a roof box is useful, also read 6 reasons why a roof box is worth buying.

Technical details and what to watch for

The Tiger Silver roof bars carry 75 kg. The Diamond 450 box weighs 18 kg, so of the 75 kg of the roof bars, 57 kg is left for luggage, as long as you do not exceed the capacity of the box either.
The Diamond 450 box is TÜV and City Crash tested, and the Tiger roof bars are TÜV tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006.
The Tiger Silver roof bars have an anti-theft lock and the box has an integrated lock, so you can protect both the luggage and the accessories.
Before you set off, check the total height of the car with the box fitted, especially for underground car parks or barriers.
The Diamond box has fitting instructions as a PDF, and the Tiger roof bars come with the manual in the pack, fitted with the Allen key from the set.
