About the car: Seat Cordoba I, generation 1 (Typ 6K)

The first generation of the Seat Cordoba has the code Typ 6K and was built between 1993 and 2002. The model is based on the Volkswagen Group A03 platform and was available as a 4-door saloon, alongside a 2-door coupé and a 5-door estate. The Cordoba received a facelift in 1999, with changes to the bumpers, headlights, rear lights and grille.

The 4-door saloon has no roof rails, so a set of roof bars attaches to the car body, using dedicated fitting kits. For the Cordoba I, the Menabo Tema set is 1,120 mm long and carries 50 kg, so the weight of the accessory fitted on it is subtracted from this limit.

What we fitted on this Seat Cordoba

We fitted the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars for Seat Cordoba I, 4-door, 1993-2002 model. The bars have an oval, aerodynamic profile, the metal components are treated with a rubberised coating and anti-corrosion protection, and on top there is a 20 mm T-track for accessories with T-bolt fitting. The bars are TÜV and ISO certified and suit bike racks, roof boxes and ski racks.

The set contains 2 bars, 4 fitting kits, 4 feet, 4 lock cylinders with keys and an Allen key. If the accessory does not have a T-bolt fitting, you can choose the U-bolt fitting, around the outside of the bar. For the steps to fit racks on roof bars, see the guide on our blog.

Technical details and what to watch for

Capacity: the bars carry 50 kg. The weight of the bike rack, the box or the luggage fitted on the bars must stay within this limit.
Dimensions: 1,120 mm long, 48 mm wide and 30 mm high, in aluminium, with a 20 mm T-track.
Set: 2 roof bars, 4 fitting kits, 4 feet for the roof bars, 4 locks with keys and an Allen key.
Fitting: the fitting kits attach to the car body. T-bolt fitting in the T-track is for accessories that have a T-bolt fitting; otherwise the U-bolt fitting is used.
Height: with the bars and the accessory fitted, the car becomes taller. Measure before entering a garage or an underground car park.
Before setting off, check the fittings and, if the accessory covers the rear of the car, that the rear lights and number plate stay visible.
