The fourth-generation SEAT Ibiza, code 6J, was announced at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show as the Bocanegra concept and was built until 2017. The model was built on the Volkswagen Group A05 (PQ25) platform. The 3-door version was sold as the Ibiza SportCoupe or Ibiza SC, and the 5-door Ibiza ST estate was announced in March 2010. The facelift was launched in Geneva in 2012.

On the Ibiza IV the roof is normal, without factory-fitted roof rails, so the bars are fitted directly onto the bodywork, with a kit made for each specific car.
