About the car: Seat Leon II (1P), 2005-2009
The second-generation Seat Leon, code 1P, was produced from July 2005 to 2012 on the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform. In 2009 the range received a facelift, and the product in this post is listed for 2005-2009, which ends in the year of the facelift. On the roof, the Seat Leon II has no factory roof rails.
For this reason, K39 roof bars are fitted directly onto the body. In the photo of our fitting, the feet of the roof bar sit on the edge of the roof, and the clip goes into the door frame. Before fitting, open the doors and check that the feet sit properly in the frame.
What we fitted on this Seat Leon II
We fitted the K39 steel roof bars for the Seat Leon II (1P), 4-door, 2005-2009 models. The set includes 2 black steel roof bars, 4 fitting kits, 4 feet and an Allen key, so you do not need any other tools. The roof bars are 1,300 mm long, 20 mm high and 30 mm wide, and the set weighs 4 kg.
The K39 roof bars have no T-track on top, so accessories attach with a standard U-bolt fitting of at least 30 mm. You can fit bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks on them, if they have this type of fitting. The steel roof bars are covered in a protective plastic coating, and the metal parts have a rubberised coating. You will find the overview video on the product page.

Technical details and what to watch for
- The maximum load is 55 kg. The weight of the fitted accessory and of the luggage counts towards this load, so you stay under the total limit.
- The set has no anti-theft lock. If you leave accessories fitted unattended, consider a separate lock.
- The overall height of the car increases with the roof bars and the accessories on the roof. Check the height before you enter a garage or a car park with a barrier.
- The instruction manual is included in the box.
- For accessories, the basic rule is a U-bolt fitting of at least 30 mm. Without it, the accessory does not fit on these roof bars.
