About the car: Seat Leon

The Seat Leon has several generations and body styles, and the choice of roof bars depends on the exact year of the car and on whether the roof has factory roof rails. The Menabo Delta Silver set is designed to fit directly onto the bodywork, with vehicle-specific fitting systems, and the box is fixed onto the bars.

What we fitted on this Seat Leon

The bars are Menabo Delta Silver roof bars, made of aluminium, 1,370 mm long, 30 mm high and 60 mm wide. The set weighs 5.6 kg and has a capacity of 50 kg. The bars have a 20 mm T-track on top, where accessories with a T-track fitting attach, and for those with a U-bolt fitting there is the standard fixing around the outside of the bar.

The box is the Menabo Diamond DUO 450 White roof box, glossy white, with a volume of 450 litres and a capacity of 75 kg. It attaches to the roof bars with T-track fittings, and the Quick Fix system secures the fittings in the track of the bar, without special keys. It opens on both sides, and you will find the fitting instructions below, as a PDF.

Technical details and what to watch for

• The bars have a capacity of 50 kg, and the box 75 kg. The real limit is the lowest value of the bars, the box and the roof of the car.
• With the empty box at 19 kg and the bars at 5.6 kg, about 25 kg remain, up to the 50 kg limit of the bars, for luggage.
• The box has a volume of 450 litres and is fitted on the bars, and the total height of the car increases with it. Check the height before garages or car parks with a barrier.
• The Diamond DUO box has an anti-theft lock and opens on both sides, so you can reach the luggage from either side of the car. It is TÜV tested and City Crash tested.
• The maximum load may differ depending on the make and model of the car. Check the specifications given by the car manufacturer.
