About the car: Skoda Superb III Combi (3V), 2015+

The third-generation Superb (B8, code 3V) was built on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform between 2015 and 2024. The Combi version, a 5-door estate, reached dealers in September 2015, and the facelift was unveiled in May 2019. The products in this fitting are made for the Superb (3V) Wagon, 5-door, from 2015 onwards.

On the Superb III Combi, the type of roof bars depends on the roof. Cars with roof rails use sets that attach to them, as the original Skoda roof bars do. The Menabo Tema kit in this fitting, however, attaches directly to the bodywork and is designed by Menabo for cars without factory roof rails. The fixing systems in the set are dedicated to the Superb (3V) Wagon, 5-door, so they do not depend on roof rails.

What we fitted on this Superb Combi

Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars for the Skoda Superb (3V) Wagon, 5-door, 2015+ have an oval, aerodynamic profile, and the metal components are treated with rubberised paint and an anti-corrosion coating. The set has 4 fixing systems for the Superb Combi, 4 feet, 2 aluminium bars of 1,300 mm, 4 anti-theft locks with keys and the Allen key. Each bar is 48 mm wide and 30 mm high, with a 20 mm channel on the top. The maximum load is 50 kg, and the roof bars are TÜV and ISO approved.

On the bars we fitted the Menabo Yelo 6 Silver roof ski & snowboard rack, which holds 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. The rack slides out, so you can reach your equipment more easily, and has a lock for both the skis and the fixings. It fixes with 20 mm T-track fixing that suits the 20 mm channel of the Tema bars, weighs 4.7 kg and carries a maximum of 42 kg. It is made of aluminium, measures 814 x 58 x 130 mm and complies with TÜV, ISO/PAS 11154:2006 and DIN 75302, and is also City Crash tested.

Technical details and what to watch for

Roof calculation: the Menabo Tema bars carry 50 kg; minus the 4.7 kg Yelo 6 rack leaves 45.3 kg, but the rack itself is limited to 42 kg of equipment.
In total up to 51.9 kg ends up on the roof (bars 5.2 kg, rack 4.7 kg, equipment 42 kg), so also check the roof load in the car's registration document.
The Yelo 6 is not height-adjustable; skis with very tall bindings should be checked when loading.
The instruction manual for the Tema Aluminium bars is included in the pack, and the fitting instructions for the Menabo Yelo 6 rack are below, in PDF, together with the specifications.
