On a post-facelift Suzuki SX4 S-Cross JY with raised roof rails, we fitted the Menabo Frozen Alu ski & snowboard rack, attached to the roof bars. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom.

About the car: Suzuki SX4 S-Cross JY after the facelift (2016-2021)
The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross of the JY generation is a 5-door SUV, 4,300 mm long, presented in Geneva in 2013 and built in Hungary until 2021. The September 2016 facelift brought a new front end, LED rear lights and a ground clearance of 180 mm instead of 165 mm. After the facelift, the SZ-T trim has silver roof rails and the SZ5 has aluminium roof rails.
For a ski rack, the roof of the S-Cross is an advantage: roof bars attach onto the raised roof rails, and the rack fixes onto them, on top of the car. The Suzuki manual (2019 edition, page 5-20) allows a maximum of 75 kg on the roof rails, including the roof bars and everything loaded. That limit stays the reference when you add other accessories on the roof.
What we fitted on this Suzuki SX4 S-Cross
On the roof bars of the S-Cross we fitted the Menabo Frozen Alu ski & snowboard rack, made of aluminium, in silver and black. It takes 5 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards, has locks for both the rack and your gear, and weighs 3.8 kg.
The Frozen Alu attaches with a 20 mm T fitting, which slides into the top T-track of the aluminium roof bars. On rectangular steel roof bars it fits only with the optional external U-bolt kit, code 000110300000. The rack meets TÜV, ISO/PAS 11154:2006 and DIN 75302 standards and is City Crash tested. The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross manual (2019 edition, page 5-20) allows a maximum of 75 kg on the roof rails and 50 kg on the anchor points. With the 3.8 kg Menabo Frozen Alu rack, that leaves 71.2 kg for the roof bars and skis.
