About the car: Tesla Model Y
The Tesla Model Y is a 5-door SUV, built since January 2020. The version made in Berlin has been delivered since March 2022, mainly for the European market. About 76% of the parts of the Model Y are shared with the Tesla Model 3.
For a towbar bike rack the panoramic glass roof makes no difference, because the rack attaches to the towbar. In the photo, the white Tesla has the classic rear door with a recessed handle, wheels with aero covers and the Menabo towbar rack with bikes on it.
What we fitted on this Tesla Model Y
We fitted the the Menabo Antares Plus bike rack for 3 bikes, towbar-mounted and foldable. It is made of aluminium, silver in colour, with Rapid-Lock fixing and a tilting function. The rack carries 60 kg in total and takes standard bikes, e-bikes and fat bikes.
The maximum weight per bike is 25 kg. The rack has locks for the rack and for the bikes, a number plate and light holder, and a 13/7-pin electrical plug. The rack cannot be combined with a roof box.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Specifications: 3 bikes, aluminium, foldable, with tilting function and Rapid-Lock fixing on the towbar.
- Capacity: 60 kg in total and 25 kg per bike. Add up the weight of the bikes and make sure you do not go over 60 kg.
- Anti-theft lock: the rack and the bikes can be locked.
- Rear lights: the rack has a number plate and light holder, and the electrical plug is 13/7-pin.
- Roof box: the rack cannot be combined with a roof box.
- Visibility: after fitting, check that the number plate and the lights of the bikes are visible from behind.
- Fitting: once it is attached, check that the rack does not move on the towbar.
