On a Toyota RAV4 XA50 we fitted the Yakima JustClick 3 towbar-mounted bike rack.

About the car: Toyota RAV4 fifth generation (XA50)

The Toyota RAV4 XA50 was built from November 2018 to December 2025 as a 5-door SUV on the TNGA-K (GA-K) platform, the same as the Camry XV70. The facelift of September 2021, for the 2022 model year, brought new projector-type LED headlights.

For a towbar-mounted rack, towing capacity and towbar load matter. The Toyota UK data sheet for the RAV4 Hybrid gives 750 kg unbraked towing mass and, braked, 800 kg for FWD and 1,650 kg for AWD-i. The permitted vertical load on the towbar is not given in the data sheet, so check it in the car's documents or on the towbar plate before loading the rack with bikes. The values may differ for other engines.

What we fitted on this Toyota RAV4

The Yakima JustClick 3 attaches to the towbar with the Just Click system, and a red/green light confirms that the rack is attached correctly. On the site you will find it in the version Yakima JustClick 3 + Extension, which carries up to 4 bikes, with a maximum of 25 kg per bike and 58 kg in total.

The rack is made of aluminium, has rear lights and a 13/7-pin socket, a lock for the bikes and for the rack, and a folding function. It accepts tyres up to 83 mm (3.25 inch) wide, and the spacing between bikes is 20 cm. The integrated wheels help you move and store it easily. • Maximum load 58 kg, maximum 25 kg per bike; the extension version carries up to 4 bikes.
• Calculation for electric bikes: two 25 kg eBikes make 50 kg, under the 58 kg limit.
• Tyres up to 83 mm wide; fat bikes are not compatible.
