About the car: Toyota RAV4 XA50 facelift
The Toyota RAV4 XA50 is the fifth generation of the model, built from November 2018 to December 2025 on the TNGA-K (GA-K) platform, the same as the Toyota Camry XV70. It is a 5-door SUV with a tailgate. The facelift was presented in September 2021, for the 2022 model year, with new LED projector headlights, and these are clearly visible on the silver RAV4 in this fitting.
For a roof box, two things matter on the RAV4 XA50: the right roof bars for the car's roof, and the total height. The Toyota UK data sheet gives the RAV4 Hybrid a height of 1,685 mm, with nothing on the roof. With the Menabo Mania 580, about 36 cm high, you reach over 2 metres before adding the roof bars, and that matters at underground car parks and garages.
What we fitted on this RAV4 facelift
We fitted the Menabo Mania 580 ABS Black roof box, made of glossy black ABS plastic, with a volume of 580 litres and a maximum load of 75 kg. It belongs to the range of very large boxes, over 200 cm long, and opens on the right-hand side, the kerb side rather than the road side.
It fixes to the roof bars with the included Quick Fixing clamp system, which lets you attach and remove the box quickly. The box is compatible with many Menabo and K39 roof bar models and with Thule WingBar and SquareBar roof bars; for Thule ProBar and SlideBar the 20 mm T-track adapter, code 000063600000, is needed. It also has a lock, so the luggage stays safe when the RAV4 is parked.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Menabo Mania 580 Black: 580 litres, maximum load 75 kg, width 89 cm, height about 36 cm.
- It opens on the right-hand side, and the box has a lock.
