The Carbon Look 400 roof box: versatile and practical
One of the best ways to carry luggage when you travel is the Carbon Look 400 roof box. How can it help you when you hit the road?
First of all, the Carbon Look box has a capacity of 400 litres and a maximum load of 75 kg. That means you can take loads of luggage on holiday, whatever its shape or size, as long as it does not exceed 75 kg.
The Carbon Look is made from a special polypropylene that is extra hard yet flexible, so it stands up well to everyday use. The box measures 169 cm long and 79 cm wide on the outside, and stands 37 cm high from the mounting point.

The Carbon Look box attaches to your car's roof bars with 80 mm U-bolt fittings, which are supplied with the box. The roof box opens on one side only: the left-hand side, which is the driver's side on left-hand-drive cars. For extra security, the Carbon roof box also comes with a key-operated anti-theft lock.
Before you buy the Carbon Look box, it is very important to make sure your car has roof bars that are compatible with the 80 mm U-bolt fitting. The U-bolts clamp around the outside of the bars, so the bars must be no more than 80 mm wide.

How do you fit the Carbon Look 400 roof box correctly?
The Carbon roof box fits directly onto your car's roof bars: just follow the instructions supplied with it.
Put the 80 mm U-bolts around the roof bars and feed them up into the box.

The fittings are tightened by hand with the wing nuts supplied. Before tightening the box onto the roof bars, position it where you want it. Whether you centre the box on the roof or place it towards the right-hand side, it will carry just as much and work just as well.

Once you have positioned the Carbon box and tightened the fittings, check that it has been fitted correctly. A correctly fitted box should not move at all. Once that is done, you can load the luggage you want to carry into the box.
