The Thule SlideBar Clamp roof bar system makes loading and unloading gear on the roof easier, thanks to bars that slide out in both directions. Winner of the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award for innovation and ergonomics, it is designed for cars without roof rails.

How it works: the bars slide out by 60 cm to either side, bringing your gear to the edge of the vehicle, so loading is easier without stretching across the car or standing on a step stool. One-handed operation with rubberised grip panels, and a snap-lock with coloured indicators (red = open, bar can slide; green = closed and locked).

Benefits: suited to tall vehicles (SUVs, vans, 4x4s) where the roof is hard to reach, and to heavy e-bikes (25-30 kg), kayaks and bulky gear. It helps protect your car from scratches (no dragging gear across the roof) and helps protect you (less risk of getting dirty or falling), and it saves time when loading. Tested in extreme conditions at the Thule Test Center™. Maximum load: 90 kg (always check your vehicle's maximum roof load). Locking system compatible with the Thule One-Key System (lock cylinders sold separately).
