Yakima RoadShower MD car shower, 26 L pressurised water tank
Yakima RoadShower MD is a 26 L water tank that mounts on your car's roof bars and gives you pressurised water wherever you are: at a campsite, at the beach, after a bike ride or after a day in the mountains. You can rinse off sand, wash your bike, your gear, your dog's paws or camping dishes, with no electric pump and no need to look for a tap.
Warm water from the sun
The tank body is welded aluminium, powder-coated in black. The black surface absorbs the sun's heat and the aluminium passes it on to the water: on a sunny day the water temperature rises by about 6-9 °C per hour, and after 2-3 hours the water can reach over 32 °C. The thermometer stuck to the tank shows temperatures up to 48 °C.
Pressure without an electric pump
The tank is pressurised through the Schrader-type air valve, with a manual or electric pump, or directly from a tap, using the garden hose adapter included, which fills and pressurises the tank at the same time. The safety valve in the filler cap releases the pressure at 55-65 PSI (about 3.8-4.5 bar). The 140 cm hose ends in a shower spray gun with an adjustable jet.
Fitting to roof bars, with locks
The stainless steel fittings suit all Yakima bars and most roof bars sold on the market. The distance between the bars must be between 61 and 127 cm. The tank is secured with the SKS locks included. It has one water outlet at each end, so when the car is parked on a slope you move the hose to the lower end and use all the water.

Note: when full, the tank weighs about 38 kg. Check the maximum load of the roof bars and of the car's roof (listed in the vehicle handbook) before fitting. Before showering, check the thermometer and test the water on your hand: the water in the tank can be hotter than the water in the hose. Do not leave water in the tank in freezing weather. Do not pressurise above 65 PSI.
