Dacia Duster HS Facelift with Menabo Blade M Roof Bars and Menabo Marathon Dark 400 Roof Box

This Dacia Duster HS facelift received Menabo Blade M roof bars and the Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Duster HS facelift (2013-2017)

The Duster HS is the first generation of the model, built in Europe between 2010 and 2017 and on sale from March 2010. The facelift, shown in Frankfurt in September 2013, can be recognised by the chrome grille and the redesigned headlights, and it also brought restyled roof rails. In our shop, the kits for this version are listed as Dacia Duster II, 2013-2018.

As a 5-door crossover SUV with raised roof rails, the Duster HS lets you fit the roof bars directly onto the roof rails, with the 4 fittings from the set. We do not have the permitted roof load from the Dacia manual for the HS, so check it in the manual of your car.

What we fitted on this Dacia Duster

We chose the roof bars Menabo Blade M for Dacia Duster II, 2013-2018, made of aluminium, with an elongated, aerodynamic section, 1,270 mm long, 30 mm high and 80 mm wide. They have a 20 mm T-track along the whole length, a lock on all 4 fittings and a maximum load of 75 kg, TÜV tested and DIN75302 approved. The colour is silver with black.

On them we put the Menabo Marathon Dark 400 roof box, a matt black ABS box of 400 litres that takes a maximum of 50 kg and weighs 13.2 kg. The 20 mm T-track fittings from the pack match the 20 mm T-track of the Blade M roof bars, and the box has a lock and opens on the right.

Technical details and what to watch for

Menabo Blade M: 1,270 x 80 x 30 mm, aluminium, 20 mm T-track, maximum load 75 kg, ISO/PAS 11154:2006.
Calculation: 75 kg maximum load of the bars minus 13.2 kg for the box leaves 61.8 kg available, but the limit of the Marathon box remains 50 kg.
The Menabo Marathon Dark 400 box also comes with a 60 mm U-bolt fitting, useful on bars other than those with a T-track.

Menabo recommends not exceeding 130 km/h with the bars fitted on the car.
The maximum roof load of the Duster HS is taken from the car's manual; the sum of bars, box and luggage must not exceed it.
