About the car: Dacia Logan II facelift (L52/K52)
The second-generation Dacia Logan (L52/K52) was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 and was built until 2020, on the Dacia M0 platform, as a 4-door Saloon and a 5-door estate. The facelift was also presented in Paris, in 2016, with new headlights that include LED daytime running lights. The car in this fitting is a Logan II facelift Saloon, with the tail lights in the new design, the chrome Dacia logo and the LOGAN lettering on the boot lid.
The standard Logan II Saloon has no roof rails, and at the rear it has a boot lid, not a tailgate. For bikes you have three options: roof bars with a roof-mounted rack, a towbar bike rack if the car has a towbar, or a rack fixed directly onto the boot lid. We chose the third option, because it needs nothing fitted on the car beforehand, and the rack can be taken off and folded when you are not using it.
What we fitted on this Logan II
The K39 Holiday bike rack is made of steel, folds and carries up to 3 bikes, with a maximum load of 45 kg. It attaches to the boot lid or tailgate at 6 attachment points with a set of straps, and the bikes hang by the frame and are secured with clamps.
The Holiday has anti-scratch protection for the rear window and the body and is compatible with fat bikes, but not with electric bikes. It has no lock for the rack or for the bikes, and the bikes touch each other. On the product sheet you will find the K39 car compatibility list, the fitting instructions as a PDF and an overview video.

Technical details and what to watch for
- K39 Holiday load capacity: maximum 3 bikes and 45 kg in total, which is on average 15 kg per bike when you load all three.
- Compatible bikes: fat bikes yes, electric bikes no; it attaches to the frame, for any frame diameter.
- Before fitting, clean the boot lid and the contact areas, so that no dust or sand is left under the pads; the steps are explained in the fitting guide for rear-mounted bike racks.
- After loading the bikes, check that they do not cover the tail lights or the number plate, and that the pedals or handlebars do not touch the body.
- Because the bikes touch each other, it is worth putting soft padding between the frames on long journeys.
- Watch out for the next generation: on the Dacia Logan III, launched in 2020, the Dacia manual forbids any bike rack fitted on the boot lid.

Frequently asked questions
Which bike rack fits the Dacia Logan 2 Saloon?
On a Dacia Logan II facelift Saloon we fitted the K39 Holiday rack, which attaches at 6 points with straps onto the boot lid and carries up to 3 bikes, maximum 45 kg. Before buying, check the compatibility list on the product sheet. You can find other options at tailgate bike racks.
How many bikes does the K39 Holiday rack carry?
The K39 Holiday rack is designed for 3 bikes, with a maximum total weight of 45 kg. The bikes hang by the frame, are secured with clamps and touch each other, and the rack folds when you are not using it.
Can I carry an electric bike on the K39 Holiday rack?
No, the product sheet says that the K39 Holiday rack is not compatible with electric bikes, although it accepts fat bikes. For electric bikes you usually use towbar racks, which we write about in the guide to roof-mounted or towbar-mounted racks.
Can a boot-mounted bike rack be fitted on the Dacia Logan 3?
No. On the Dacia Logan III, the generation launched in 2020, the Dacia manual forbids fixing any bike rack or roof rack on the boot lid. We fitted the boot-mounted rack, such as the K39 Holiday, on a Logan II facelift; on the Logan III, roof-mounted or towbar-mounted racks are used.
