Dacia Logan MCV II with Menabo Raven roof bars and Menabo Mania 400 roof box

On a Dacia Logan MCV II we fitted Menabo Raven roof bars and, on top, the Menabo Mania 400 ABS White roof box. The fitting was done in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Dacia Logan MCV II (2013-2020)

The Logan MCV II is the estate of the second-generation Logan (L52/K52) and debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. The MCV name stayed, but it now stands for Maximum Capacity Vehicle. The second generation was built until 2020 on the Dacia M0 platform, and the facelift was presented in Paris in 2016. The car in this fitting has the LOGAN MCV badge on the tailgate and raised roof rails.

Raised roof rails completely change how the bars are fitted: the roof bars no longer attach in the door frame, as on the saloon, but directly onto the roof rails, with feet that wrap around them. That is why we used the Menabo Raven set made specifically for the Logan MCV 2013+. You will find the maximum roof load in the car's manual; if it is lower than 60 kg, it becomes the limit.

What we fitted on this Logan MCV

Menabo Raven roof bars for the Dacia Logan MCV 2013+ are made of aluminium, with an oval section of 28 x 42 mm and a length of 1300 mm. The set includes 2 bars and 4 feet for roof rails, has a maximum load of 60 kg and is TÜV tested (Static Test). The bars accept accessories with a U-bolt fitting or a 14 mm T-track fitting, and the fitting manual is included in the package.

On the Raven we mounted the Menabo Mania 400 ABS White roof box, in glossy white, with a volume of 400 litres, a maximum load of 75 kg, a lock and right-hand opening. It comes with a 60 mm U-bolt fitting and a 20 mm T-track fitting included, and the compatibility list on the product page shows it as compatible with Menabo Raven bars.

Technical details and what to watch for

Menabo Raven: aluminium, 28 x 42 mm oval section, length 1300 mm, maximum load 60 kg, not lockable.
Menabo Mania 400 ABS White: 400 litres, maximum load 75 kg, lockable, opens on the right.
Useful calculation: the limit that matters here is that of the bars, 60 kg, which includes the weight of the box. Subtract the weight of the Mania 400 given on the product page from the 60 kg and you get how much you can put in the box, so on these bars you do not load the box to 75 kg.
The oval profile of the Raven bars lets air pass more easily than a square profile, so they are less likely to whistle; the Menabo recommendation remains a maximum of 130 km/h, with details in the guide to roof bar noise.
