In brief
- Car: Fiat Marea, the Weekend estate version, built in Italy and Poland between 1996 and 2002.
- Fitted: the Menabo bike rack for two bikes, tailgate-mounted.
- Capacity: carries 30 kg, and the rack weighs 11.5 kg.
- Fitting: straps at 6 points on the tailgate, with rubber pads and clamps.
About the car: Fiat Marea Weekend (estate)
The Fiat Marea was offered as a saloon and an estate, and the estate version was called the Marea Weekend. The model became officially available on 11 September 1996 and had a single generation. It was built in Italy and Poland between 1996 and 2002, and in Brazil and Turkey until 2007.
The estate in the fitting is silver and has raised roof rails on the roof, as you can see in the photo. On an estate, the tailgate rack fixes to the tailgate, so the bars on the roof stay available for other accessories.
What we fitted on this Fiat Marea
We fitted the the Menabo rack for two bikes, fixed to the tailgate or boot lid of the car. The rack is made of steel, in silver and black, and is foldable.
It weighs 11.5 kg and its packed size is 120x13x10.5 cm, so it is best to fit it with help. The bodywork is protected by rubber pads and clamps, and the rack is made in Italy.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Capacity: The maximum load is 30 kg. The bikes loaded on the rack must stay within this limit.
- Bikes: the bikes are secured by both the wheels and the frame, and on this rack they do not touch each other.
- Compatibility: the rack does not take fat bikes or e-bikes. For e-bikes and fat bikes you can look at the towbar-mounted bike racks category and check on each model's page whether it accepts this type of bike.
- Fitting: place the rack in the centre of the tailgate, attach the straps to the edge of the tailgate or boot lid and check that it is stable. The steps are in the tailgate fitting guide.
- Instructions: you will find the fitting instructions below, in PDF.
- Anti-theft lock: a bike lock is optional, and the rack has no lock of its own.
