About the car: Ford Fiesta Mk7 (2008-2017)

The Ford Fiesta Mk7 is the sixth generation of the model, developed under the project codes B299 and B409. Production began in August 2008 at the Ford plant in Cologne, Germany, and European production lasted until April 2017. The car uses Ford's global B-car platform, developed specially for it, and came as a 3- or 5-door hatchback, a 4-door saloon and a 3-door van. The facelift shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 brought the trapezoidal grille, and it went on sale in Europe in 2013.

The Fiesta in the photos has a 5-door hatchback body, so the Polaris 2 rack is fitted on the tailgate and not on the roof. On a hatchback, the tailgate is the right place for a bike rack, because no roof bars are needed. Before fitting, clean the tailgate well so the clamps sit firmly.

What we fitted on this Fiesta

We fitted the the Menabo Polaris 2 bike rack, for 2 bikes, tailgate-mounted. The rack is made of aluminium, attaches with special clamps at 4 fixed points, is fitted without special tools and is foldable, so it can be folded down when you are not using it.

Bikes are fixed to the rack by the frame and the wheels, and the rack accepts any frame diameter. The bikes do not touch each other.

For e-bikes and fat bikes you can look at the towbar-mounted bike racks category and check on each model's page whether it accepts this type of bike. The Polaris 2 accepts fat bikes, but does not accept eBikes.
