The Ford Mondeo III, internal code CD345, was produced between 2006 and 2014. The UK launch took place in February 2007, and the facelift was presented in September 2010. The generation was available as a 4-door saloon, a 5-door hatchback and a 5-door estate, and the EUCD platform was developed jointly with Volvo.

The 5-door version of this generation has no factory-fitted roof rails on the roof. For this reason the roof bars fit directly onto the body, with vehicle-specific fittings. A bike rack, roof box or ski rack is then fixed on the bars, and the weight of each is deducted from the capacity of the bars.

What we fitted on this Ford Mondeo III

We fitted the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars for the Ford Mondeo III, 5-door, 2007-2014. The set has 2 aluminium bars, 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide. The bars have an oval, aerodynamic profile for minimum drag on the move, and the metal components are treated with a rubberised anti-corrosion coating.

On top of the bars there is a 20 mm channel for fitting car and cycling accessories, such as bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks. If the accessory has no T-track fitting, you can opt for a U-bolt fitting around the outside of the bar. The set comes with 4 feet, 4 fittings, 4 lock cylinders with keys and an Allen key, so no other tool is needed. The set weighs 5.2 kg.

Technical details and what to watch for
