Hyundai Tucson 3 (TL) 2015-2021 with Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars on integrated roof rails

This third-generation (TL) Hyundai Tucson, from before the facelift, left us with a set of Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars, fitted on the integrated roof rails. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Hyundai Tucson 3 (TL), 2015-2021

The third generation of the Hyundai Tucson, with the code TL, debuted at the Geneva Motor Show on 3 March 2015 and was built from 2015 to 2021, for model years 2016-2021. With it, Hyundai dropped the ix35 name and the model was called Tucson again everywhere. Compared with the previous generation, the TL grew by 65 mm in length and 30 mm in width, and it was assembled at several plants, including Nosovice in the Czech Republic. The car in this fitting is from the first phase of the generation, before the facelift presented in New York in 2018, when the Tucson received a cascade grille, a redesigned bonnet and tailgate and a rectangular fuel flap.

On the integrated, flush roof rails of the Tucson TL, you fit sets with feet that clamp directly onto the rail profile, such as the Tiger Silver set made for this model. In the manual for the 2016 Tucson (US edition), Hyundai gives a load of 100 kg on the roof rack, with the load evenly distributed and well secured. Because the Tiger Silver bars carry 75 kg, their limit is the one that counts when loading.

What we fitted on this Tucson

The Menabo Tiger Silver for Hyundai Tucson (TL) 2015+ has two aluminium bars of 1,200 mm, with an oval profile 48 mm wide and 28 mm high. The oval shape reduces noise and aerodynamic drag. Along the whole length of the bar there is a 20 mm T-track, so accessories with T-track fittings fix directly into the bar profile.

The package contains the 2 bars, 4 pre-assembled feet for the roof rails and the Allen key. The set is lockable, TÜV tested and tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006, and it meets DIN 75302. On these bars you can fit later a roof box, a bike rack or a ski rack, up to the 75 kg limit.
