About the car: Mitsubishi Lancer, 2007 generation

The 2007-generation Lancer was officially presented in January 2007 at the North American International Auto Show and was built from 2007 to 2019 on the Mitsubishi GS platform. The car in the fitting is a silver 4-door saloon with the LANCER badge on the body.

On the saloon, the Biki is strapped to the boot lid, as you can see in the photo. There is also a 5-door hatchback version, called the Sportback, so check the body type before ordering.

What we fitted on this Lancer

We fitted the the Menabo Biki rack for 3 bikes, attached to the tailgate or boot lid. It is made of steel, weighs 4 kg and folds, so it is easy to store when you are not using it. It has 6 contact points on the bodywork and carries 3 bikes, with a maximum load of 45 kg.

The bikes are held by the frame and touch each other on the rack. For e-bikes you can see towbar-mounted bike racks category and check on each model's page whether it accepts this type of bike. The Biki does not take e-bikes, but it does take fat bikes.

Technical details and what to watch for

Capacity: 3 bikes, maximum supported weight 45 kg.
Fixing: 6 points on the bodywork. The bikes are held by the frame and touch each other on the rack, so check before you set off that the frames do not get scratched.
After fitting, check that the rack is firmly in place and that the bikes do not touch the bodywork with the handlebars or pedals, as described in the the guide to fitting on the tailgate.
The rack has no anti-theft lock, and the bikes do not come with one.
On the saloon in the photo the rack is strapped to the boot lid, so make sure the bikes do not cover the tail lights or the number plate.
