On a Nissan Pulsar we fitted a set of Menabo Tema roof bars in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Nissan Pulsar C13, European version 2014-2018

The Nissan Pulsar sold in Europe was a compact 5-door hatchback, launched in 2014 as a replacement for the Tiida and sold only in Europe. The C13 generation uses the CMF-CD platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance, and the European models were built at the Nissan plant in Barcelona.

The Pulsar was withdrawn from sale in Europe on 12 September 2018, so the European model was built between 2014 and 2018. The car has no factory-fitted roof rails, so the roof bars are fitted directly on the body, with the fitting kit made for this model.

What we fitted on this Pulsar

We fitted the the Menabo Tema aluminium roof bars for Nissan Pulsar, 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide. The profile is oval and aerodynamic, and on top there is a 20 mm T-track for bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks.

The set includes 2 aluminium bars, 4 fittings for the Nissan Pulsar, 4 feet, 4 lock cylinders with keys and an Allen key, so you do not need any other tool. The metal parts are treated with a rubberised, anti-corrosion coating, and the bars are TÜV and ISO approved.

Technical details and what to watch for

• Dimensions: each bar is 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide. The set weighs 5.2 kg.
• Load: the bars carry 50 kg in total. The weight of fitted accessories, for example a bike rack, is deducted from this value.
• Car load: the value can differ by car make and model. Check the specifications given by the car manufacturer.
• Fitting: the fittings are made for the Nissan Pulsar. If your accessories do not have a T fitting, you can use the U-bolt fitting around the outside of the bar.
