About the car: Nissan Qashqai J11 (2014-2017)
The Nissan Qashqai J11 is the second generation of the model, built from November 2013 to 2021 on the Renault-Nissan CMF-CD platform. Prices were announced on 13 November 2013, and the car went on sale in the UK in January 2014. The facelift was shown in Geneva in 2017 and went on sale in Europe in July 2017. Menabo makes separate kits for the J11 2014-2017 and the J11 2017+.
At launch, roof rails came with the Tekna version, while the base versions have a smooth roof without rails. The car in this fitting is one of those. On a roof like this, the roof bars rest on feet and attach to the body with a fitting kit made for the car, so it matters to choose the kit for the correct range of years. We could not find the J11 manual online, so check the roof load limit in your car's handbook.
What we fitted on this Qashqai J11
The set is Menabo Tema Aluminium for Nissan Qashqai (J11), 5-door, 2014-2017. Tema is one of the best-known roof bars on the market, made for cars without factory roof rails. They have an oval aerodynamic profile, 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide, and the metal parts are treated with anti-corrosion rubberised paint.
The pack contains 2 aluminium bars, 4 feet, 4 fitting kits for the Qashqai J11, 4 locks with keys and an Allen key. On top, the Tema has a 20 mm T-track for accessories with a T fitting, and accessories without a T fitting can be attached with a U-bolt fitting on the outside of the bar. The bars are TÜV and ISO certified and carry a maximum of 50 kg.

- Menabo Tema Aluminium bar dimensions: 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high, 48 mm wide, oval profile.
- Maximum load: 50 kg. If you add a box or racks, their weight is deducted from the 50 kg, and the rest is left for the load.
- Locks are included: the set has 4 locks with keys.
- 20 mm T-track for bike racks, roof boxes, and ski or kayak racks with a T fitting; the U-bolt fitting is still possible.
- The instruction manual is included in the box.
- The kit is for the Qashqai J11 5-door, 2014-2017; for the 2017+ facelift Menabo has a separate kit.
- Menabo recommends not exceeding 130 km/h with the roof bars fitted.
