About the car: Opel Ampera (2012-2015)
The Opel Ampera is a liftback, the Opel version of the Chevrolet Volt, with styling changes. It is based on the GM Delta II platform and reached customers in Europe in February 2012. In July 2014, Opel announced that the model would be discontinued because of falling sales. It should not be confused with the Opel Ampera-e, which is a different model.
The Ampera has no factory roof rails, so the roof bars are fixed directly to the body, with a fitting kit made for the car. The roof type decides the fixing system, and the capacity of the bars remains the limit you must respect.
What we fitted on this Opel Ampera
The bars we fitted are Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars for Opel Ampera, 4-door, 2012+. They have an oval, aerodynamic profile, and are 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide. All the metal components are treated with rubberised, anti-corrosion paint.
On top, the bars have a 20 mm channel for T-track accessories, such as bike racks, roof boxes or ski racks. Accessories without a T-track fitting can be fixed with U-bolts on the outside of the bar. The set includes 2 bars, 4 fixings, 4 feet, 4 locks and an Allen key.
