Opel Astra J saloon with Menabo Delta Silver roof bars on the fixed roof points

On a facelifted 4-door Opel Astra J saloon we fitted roof bars Menabo Delta Silver, fixed onto the fixed points on the roof. The fitting was done in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Opel Astra J (P09) saloon

The Opel Astra J has the code P09 and is built on the GM Delta II platform. It debuted at Frankfurt in 2009; the hatchback and the Sports Tourer estate were produced until 2015, while the 4-door saloon, presented in Moscow in 2012, stayed in production until 2018. The facelift was announced in June 2012, for model year 2013, and our car is a facelift saloon.

The saloon has no roof rails, but it has fixed fitting points. The Opel manual shows that these are covered by caps that are removed with a coin, and the bars fix exactly there, with one set on the car body and a kit made for the model. The roof accepts 75 kg, including the bars, and with a load on the roof the maximum speed indicated by Opel is 120 km/h.

The Menabo Delta Silver bars are part of the new Menabo range, with an improved aerodynamic design, and are designed for cars without factory roof rails. The silver aluminium bar is 1,190 mm long, 60 mm wide and 30 mm high, with a 20 mm T-track for the T-bolt fitting, and it also accepts a U-bolt fitting on the outside. The set has a capacity of 75 kg, with TÜV and ISO approvals.
