About the car: Opel Astra J (P09) saloon

The J generation of the Opel Astra (code P09) uses the GM Delta II platform and was presented in Frankfurt in 2009. The 4-door saloon came later, at the 2012 Moscow Motor Show, and stayed in production until 2018, alongside the GTC. The Sports Tourer estate had already debuted in 2010, in Paris.

For roof bars, the difference between body styles matters a lot. The Sports Tourer has roof rails with holes into which the roof bars are bolted, and takes 100 kg on the roof, according to the MY12 manual. The saloon instead has fixed mounting points under covers and a limit of 75 kg, which includes the weight of the bars.
