Renault Megane IV Saloon with Menabo Delta Silver roof bars

On a white Renault Megane IV we fitted a set of Menabo Delta Silver roof bars, fitted directly onto the roof. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Renault Megane IV Saloon (LFF)

The Megane IV is the fourth-generation Renault Megane, on the CMF-CD platform also used by the Talisman and the Scenic. The hatchback (BFB) and the estate (KFB) were built from December 2015 to April 2024, while the saloon (LFF), launched in July 2016, has production announced until 2027. The hatchback and the estate received a facelift in 2020, and the saloon in February 2021. The car in our photos has the clear Megane IV front end, with the headlights and grille of this generation.

The Megane IV Saloon, also known as the Grand Coupe, has a roof that slopes down towards the rear in fastback style, and it has no roof rails. So the roof bars rest directly on the roof, and the clamps attach to the door frames. This is an important difference from the Megane IV Sporter estate, which has flush roof rails and needs a different type of fitting.

What we fitted on this Megane IV

We chose roof bars from the range Menabo Delta Silver, designed for cars without factory roof rails. They fit directly onto the roof, with a fitting made for this model, and the set contains 4 fittings, 4 feet, 2 silver aluminium roof bars, 4 locks with keys and an Allen key, the only tool needed.

The Delta roof bars are 1,190 mm long and have a 30 x 60 mm aerodynamic profile, with a 20 mm T-track on top for accessories with T-bolt fittings. Accessories without a T-bolt fitting can be fitted with the U-bolt fitting, around the outside of the bar. You can put a bike rack, a roof box, a ski and snowboard rack or a kayak rack on them. Useful fitting details

• The Menabo Delta Silver carries a maximum of 50 kg, with aluminium bars that are TÜV and ISO tested; the set weighs 5.2 kg.
• The weight of the accessory is deducted from the 50 kg: what is left is the maximum load you can put in the box or on the rack.
• The fitting kit is chosen by model and body type: the Megane IV Saloon has no roof rails, unlike the Sporter estate, which has flush roof rails and therefore uses different fittings.
• We do not have an official source for the maximum roof load of the Megane IV Saloon; check it in the car's manual, as the product sheet of the Delta roof bars also recommends.
• Menabo recommends fitting according to the instruction manual in the pack, and we recommend a maximum of 130 km/h with the roof bars fitted; you will find information about noise in a separate guide.
