Skoda Kamiq (NW4) with Menabo Tiger Black roof bars and Menabo Marathon 460 roof box

On the Skoda Kamiq (NW4) we fitted Menabo Tiger Black roof bars and the Menabo Marathon Dark 460 roof box, in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Skoda Kamiq (NW4)

The Skoda Kamiq is Skoda's subcompact (B-segment) SUV, produced since July 2019 with the code NW4. It received a facelift in August 2023. Our original post dates from September 2021, so the fitting was done before this update.

The Kamiq comes with roof rails as standard, and the roof bars attach to them. The 2020 Kamiq manual gives a maximum roof load of 75 kg, including the roof bars, and the box and the luggage in it fall within this limit too.

What we fitted on this Skoda Kamiq

Menabo Tiger Black roof bars are made of aluminium, black, with an oval profile that helps reduce noise. They are 1,200 mm long, 48 mm wide and 28 mm high, carry 75 kg and have a 20 mm T-track along the whole length for accessories with a T fitting.

Menabo Marathon Dark 460 roof box has a volume of 460 litres, is made of matt black ABS plastic and opens on the right-hand side. It comes with two fittings included, 60 mm U-bolt fittings and 20 mm T fittings, so on the Tiger roof bars it can be fixed in the T-track. An 80 mm U-bolt fitting, code 000065000000, is available as an optional extra.

Useful details

• Menabo Marathon Dark box: 460 litres, matt black ABS plastic, opens on the right-hand side, lock included.
• The Skoda Kamiq roof takes a maximum of 75 kg, including the roof bars. From this value you subtract the weight of the roof bars and of the box, and what is left is the maximum weight of the luggage in the box.
• With the box on the roof, the Kamiq becomes taller. Check the height before you enter underground car parks, garages or automatic car washes.
