On the Skoda Kamiq we fitted a set of Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars and a Menabo Mania 400 roof box, in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Skoda Kamiq first generation (NW4)

The Skoda Kamiq, a 5-door SUV, went into production in July 2019 and is built on the Volkswagen Group MQB A0 platform, also used by the SEAT Arona and the VW T-Cross. The facelift was presented in August 2023, and the Tiger Silver set is for the Kamiq 2019+.

The roof bars fix onto the rail-type roof rails integrated in the roof. Skoda gives the Kamiq a maximum roof load of 75 kg, including the bars, and recommends not exceeding 120 km/h with cargo on the roof. The Mania 400 box and the luggage must stay within the same limits.

What we fitted on this Skoda Kamiq

The Menabo Tiger Silver for the Skoda Kamiq 2019+ are made of aluminium and are 1,200 mm long, 28 mm high and 48 mm wide. They have a 20 mm T-track along their full length, for accessories with a T fitting, and a lock. The set includes 2 bars, 4 pre-assembled feet and an Allen key, with no other tool needed.

Technical details and what to watch for

• The Tiger Silver roof bars carry 75 kg. The weight of the Mania 400 box and of the accessories fitted on the bars is deducted from this capacity.
• The bars have an aerodynamic oval profile, which helps reduce noise while driving.
• The 20 mm T-track allows bike racks, boxes and ski racks with a T fitting to be fitted.
• The bars have a lock, according to the product page.
• The height of the car increases with the bars and the box, so measure before entering a garage or an underground car park.
• The instruction manual is included in the box.
