On a third-generation Skoda Superb Combi (3V) we fitted the Menabo Tiger Black roof bar set, attached to the roof rails of the car. The fitting took place in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Skoda Superb III Combi (3V)
The third-generation Skoda Superb, internal code 3V (B8), uses the Volkswagen Group MQB platform and was built between 2015 and 2024. The liftback reached dealers in June 2015, and the 5-door Combi estate in September 2015. The model received a facelift presented in May 2019 in Bratislava, on sale from the start of 2020; the bars in this fitting are listed for the Superb (3V) Wagon from 2015 onwards.
On the Combi, the difference from the liftback is the roof itself. The Superb III Combi can come with roof rails, and the roof bars attach to them, not to the door frame. The original Skoda roof bars for the Superb III Combi also fix to the roof rails, with an eccentric lever, while the original bars made for the liftback cannot be used on the Combi. That is why, for this estate, the Menabo Tiger set that attaches to the roof rails is the natural choice.
What we fitted on this Superb Combi
Menabo Tiger Black roof bars for Skoda Superb (3V) Wagon 2015+ are made of aluminium, with an oval aerodynamic profile that reduces noise and air resistance. The set includes 2 bars, 4 feet for roof rails, supplied pre-assembled, and an Allen key, with no other tools needed.
Each bar is 1,200 mm long, 48 mm wide and 28 mm high, with a 20 mm track along the whole length for accessories with a T-track fitting. The maximum load is 75 kg, and the bars are TÜV tested, tested to ISO/PAS 11154:2006 and comply with DIN 75302. You can fit roof boxes, bike racks, ski racks or kayak carriers on them.

Technical details and what to watch for
- Menabo Tiger Black capacity: 75 kg; the weight of the accessory (for example the roof box or the bike rack) is subtracted from it, and the rest remains for the load.
- The original Skoda roof bars for the Superb III Combi are rated for 100 kg, but the real limit is the maximum roof load in the car's registration papers; the same rule applies to the Tiger.
- The Tiger Black set has no anti-theft lock, so it is worth considering if the car is parked on the street for long periods.
- The 20 mm track along the whole length of the bar takes accessories with a T-track fitting.
- The instruction manual is included in the box.
