On a Suzuki SX4 S-Cross of the JY generation, the 2016+ facelift version with roof rails, we fitted a set of Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars and a 320-litre Carbon Look roof box. We did the fitting in the SuportBicicleta.ro showroom at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Suzuki SX4 S-Cross JY (facelift 2016+)
The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross of the JY generation is a 5-door SUV built on the Suzuki Global C platform and produced in Esztergom, Hungary, between 2013 and 2021. It went on sale in Europe in autumn 2013, and in September 2016 it received a facelift with a new front end, new tail lights, new alloy wheels and more efficient headlights. The car in this fitting is a facelift, exactly the 2016+ model the bar set is designed for.
The JY generation came both with and without roof rails, and the difference matters when choosing roof bars. This car has roof rails, so we used Menabo Tiger bars that attach to them. In the official accessories catalogue, Suzuki gives a maximum roof load of 75 kg for the SX4 S-Cross with roof rails, using the original Multi Roof Rack. The Tiger bars have the same 75 kg value, so the two limits match.
What we fitted on this SX4 S-Cross
The base of the fitting is the the Menabo Tiger Silver roof bars for the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross 2016+. They are made of aluminium, 1,200 mm long, with an aerodynamic oval profile of 48 x 28 mm and a 20 mm channel along the whole length for accessories with a T-track fitting. The set comes with 4 pre-assembled feet and an Allen key, with no other tools needed, and the product page also lists anti-theft locks.
On top of the bars we fixed the black Carbon Look 320 L roof box. It holds 320 litres, takes a maximum load of 55 kg, is 131 cm long and 34 cm high, opens on one side and has a lock. The product page lists it as compatible with Menabo Tiger bars, and it is fixed with the 80 mm U-bolt fitting.

Useful details for this fitting
- Menabo Tiger Silver bars: 1,200 mm long, 48 mm wide, 28 mm high, aluminium, 20 mm T-track, tested to TÜV and ISO/PAS 11154:2006, compliant with DIN 75302.
- The 75 kg capacity of the bars includes everything you put on them: the weight of the Carbon Look box itself plus the luggage inside. The box itself takes a maximum of 55 kg.
- On the SX4 S-Cross JY with roof rails, the Suzuki catalogue also gives 75 kg on the roof; if your car's manual shows a different value, stay within the lower limit.
- The box is 34 cm high on the outside, to which the bars and roof rails are added; measure the total height of the car before underground car parks or garages.
