About the car: Toyota Auris E150 (generation 1)
The first-generation Toyota Auris, code E150, was built from October 2006 to July 2012. In the UK it was launched on 1 February 2007, as the replacement for the Corolla E120 hatchback, on the Toyota New MC platform. The body is a 3-door or 5-door hatchback. The 2010 Auris has an extended chrome trim for the number plate and rear lights with a two-ring design, and the length increased by 25 mm to 4,245 mm, with the 2,600 mm wheelbase unchanged.
On a hatchback, a tailgate bike rack does not depend on roof bars, so the permitted roof load is not relevant for this fitting. Contact with the body is through hard rubber pads, and before fitting the tailgate must be cleaned, because sand or dust can scratch the paint.
