Toyota C-HR (5-door, 2016+) with Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars

On a 5-door Toyota C-HR we fitted the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bar set made for the 2016+ model. We did the fitting in our shop at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Toyota C-HR (5-door, 2016+)

The kit fitted here is the one for the 5-door Toyota C-HR, 2016+ model, and the car is most likely a first-generation one, with the codes AX10 and AX50. This generation was built from November 2016 to September 2023, sold in Europe from the start of 2017, uses the TNGA GA-C platform shared with the Corolla E210 and received a facelift in October 2019.

The C-HR roof has no roof rails, so the roof bars have nothing on the roof to attach to. The Menabo kit uses vehicle-specific fitting systems whose feet are fixed with clamps on the door frame. That is why a kit made for the 5-door C-HR body is used for this model, not universal bars.

What we fitted on this Toyota C-HR

We fitted the the Menabo Tema Aluminium roof bars for Toyota C-HR, 5-door, 2016+ model, designed for cars without factory roof rails. The Tema has an oval, aerodynamic profile, 48 mm wide and 30 mm high, with a length of 1,300 mm, and the metal parts are treated with rubberised paint and anti-corrosion coating.

The set has 2 aluminium bars, 4 feet, 4 fitting kits for the C-HR, 4 lock cylinders with keys and an Allen key. In the 20 mm channel on top you attach T-bolt accessories: bike racks, roof boxes, ski racks or kayak racks. Accessories without a T-bolt fitting can be attached with a U-bolt fitting, around the outside of the bar. The maximum load is 50 kg, and the roof bars are TÜV and ISO approved.

• Instructions: the instruction manual is included in the pack
• Roof load: not confirmed in an official Toyota manual; check your car's manual and keep to the lower value
• Speed: Menabo recommends not exceeding 130 km/h with the bars fitted
