Toyota Corolla E210 Saloon with Menabo Delta Black roof bars and Menabo Mania 460 roof box

On a Toyota Corolla E210 Saloon we fitted Menabo Delta Black roof bars and, above them, Menabo Mania 460 ABS Black roof box. Everything was done in our shop at Drumul Lunca Corbului 2, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania.

About the car: Toyota Corolla E210 Saloon (2019 - present)

The Toyota Corolla Saloon of the E210 generation has been built since January 2019 and sits on the TNGA GA-C platform, the first Corolla built on it. For Europe, the saloon is built in Turkey, and the first Prestige came off the assembly line at the Sakarya plant on 28 January 2019. From the first quarter of 2023, the Corolla received a facelift in Europe and the fifth-generation hybrid.

Like all Corolla E210 saloons, the car has a normal roof without roof rails, so the base for any box or rack is a set of roof bars that fix to the body. The box on the roof adds luggage space and frees up the boot of the saloon. The weight of the empty box, however, is deducted from what the bars can carry.

What we fitted on this Toyota Corolla Saloon

The first layer is the Menabo Delta Black roof bars for the Toyota Corolla (E210) Saloon, designed for cars without factory roof rails. They fix directly to the body, with vehicle-specific fittings, and in the package you will find 4 fitting kits, 4 feet, 2 black aluminium bars, 4 anti-theft locks with keys and the Allen key. The bars are 1,190 mm long, 60 mm wide and 30 mm high and weigh 5.2 kg, with a maximum load of 50 kg.

On top of them we fitted Menabo Mania 460 ABS Black roof box, a 460 L box in gloss black ABS plastic, with an anti-theft lock, opening on one side, on the right according to the data sheet. The box comes with two fitting systems: 60 mm U-bolts and a 20 mm T-bolt fitting. Because the Delta bars have a 20 mm track on top, the box can be fixed with the T-bolt fitting straight into the track.

Technical details and what to watch for

• The important calculation: the Menabo Delta Black bars carry 50 kg, and the empty Menabo Mania 460 box weighs 20.2 kg. At most 29.8 kg remain for the luggage in the box, even though the box data sheet states 75 kg; the limit comes from the bars, not the box.
• Roof load: also check the value in the Corolla E210 manual, because the bar data sheet says the permitted weight can differ depending on the make and model of the car; we have not found it in an official source.
• Box fitting: 20 mm T-bolt fitting for bars with a track, like the Delta, and 60 mm U-bolts for fixing around the outside of the bar, both included.
• Instructions: the instruction manual for the Delta bars is included in the package, and the fitting instructions for the Mania box are below, as a PDF, together with the specification sheets.
