About the car: Volkswagen Jetta A6 (2011-2018), 2015 facelift

The Jetta A6 is the sixth-generation Jetta, the successor to the Jetta A5, built partly on the PQ35 platform, the same platform family as the Golf. The body is a 4-door saloon, and for the 2015 model year Volkswagen updated the car with new bumpers, new headlights and a new interior. The car in our post has the facelift rear lights.

A tailgate rack does not need roof bars, so it also suits a Jetta A6 with a standard roof. In our fitting, the 3-bike rack is strapped onto the boot lid. The maximum load may differ depending on the make and model of the car, and the specifications of the car manufacturer are the final reference.

What we fitted on this Jetta

The Menabo Mistral is a tailgate bike rack for 3 bikes. It fits on the tailgate or boot lid of the car and is secured with the straps in the box. It carries 45 kg, folds, and has 6 contact points on the body, with rubber surfaces that do not scratch the paintwork. The bikes touch each other, so check that the frames do not get scratched.
