About the car: Volkswagen Tiguan (5N), first generation

The Tiguan 5N is part of the first generation of the Tiguan, a 5-door SUV that uses the PQ46 platform, derived from PQ35. The generation was built between 2007 and 2018, and the pre-facelift version, with rounded headlights and a chrome grille, is the one in the photos of this fitting. The facelift for the 2012 models was presented in Geneva in 2011.

What we fitted on this Tiguan

We fitted the Menabo Tema Aluminium for the Volkswagen Tiguan (5N), 5-door, 2007-2011 model, a set of two aluminium bars with an oval profile. The profile is designed to reduce drag while driving, and the bars have a rubberised coating and corrosion protection.

The bars have a 20 mm T-track on top, for bike racks, roof boxes, ski racks or kayak carriers. If your accessory does not have a T-bolt fitting, you can use U-bolts around the bar. The set includes 4 fitting kits, 4 feet, 4 locks and keys.

Technical details and what to watch for

The bar is 1,300 mm long, 30 mm high and 48 mm wide. The material is aluminium and the set weighs 5.2 kg.
The maximum load is 50 kg. The weight of the accessory fitted on the bars, such as a rack or a box, is deducted from this value.
The bars have an anti-theft lock and a 20 mm T-track on top, so they take accessories with a T-bolt fitting.
The instruction manual is included in the box.
