About the car: first-generation Volvo XC90 (P2)

The first-generation Volvo XC90, on the Volvo P2 platform, was presented at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2002, and production ran until 2014. It is a 5-door SUV that received a facelift for the 2007 model year, with a new front and rear and a revised interior.

On the car in the photo the roof rails are raised, and the roof bars sit on them. For this generation we do not have an official roof load value, so check the car's manual before loading. The Menabo Sherman Silver XL set is compatible with the Volvo XC90 2006-2014 and attaches to the roof rails.

What we fitted on this Volvo XC90

The Menabo Sherman Silver XL for Volvo XC90 2006-2014 includes 2 aluminium roof bars, 1,350 mm long, with an oval profile, 27 mm high and 47 mm wide. The roof bars come already assembled in the box, and the set has 4 feet pre-mounted on the roof bars, plus the Allen key from the package.

The Menabo Mania 580 ABS Black has 580 litres, is glossy black and opens on one side. It attaches with the included Quick Fixing clamp and has an integrated lock.

Technical details and what to watch for

Bar capacity: 90 kg, with 2 bars and 4 feet included.
Box volume: 580 litres, with a maximum load of 75 kg.
Useful calculation: the weight of the box is subtracted from the capacity of the roof bars. The luggage in the box must stay below the box's limit of 75 kg.
Height: the box on the roof bars increases the height of the car, so check the total height before entering a garage or underground car park.
