Description
The flange towbar for “Volkswagen Crafter Van 2006-2014” is made by Umbra Rimorchi, an Italian company founded in 1976. Today, Umbra Rimorchi is one of Europe's largest towbar manufacturers and distributors, and the brand is also sold on other continents, including Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas.
Every product is EU type-approved and certified (UN ECE R55), and each Umbra Rimorchi towbar carries its own type approval.
Its maximum towing capacity is 2,800 kg, while its nose weight is 120 kg.
The flange towbar for “Volkswagen Crafter Van 2006-2014” is made specifically for your vehicle and does not affect your car's warranty. It comes with the mounting hardware and a technical diagram for fitting, in line with the car maker's instructions.
This is a flange towbar: the tow ball is held by 2 bolts and comes off when you undo them. The advantages of this type are that the tow ball height can be adjusted and that the tow ball can be replaced as a spare part when worn. These features make flange towbars mainly suited to vans and SUVs used for farm work, vehicle transport, machinery haulage and similar jobs.
For the lights to work properly both on the car and on whatever you are towing, a vehicle-specific towbar wiring kit with a CAN-bus module must be fitted. You will find it under “Optional accessories”.
Product quality is built into the manufacturing process, whose strengths include electrostatic powder coating and a production line automated with industrial robots. Umbra Rimorchi products come with a manufacturer's guarantee of 5 years.
After the first 1,000 km, the bolts must be checked and retightened as set out in the technical specifications supplied with the product. We also recommend measuring the tow ball diameter regularly to make sure it has not worn below 49 mm.
General notes:
1. Maximum towing capacity and nose weight depend on the vehicle's gross weight and engine. Please check your vehicle registration certificate.
2. If the tow ball obscures the vehicle's number plate, it must be removed and only fitted when needed.
3. If the tow ball interferes with the parking sensors, it must be removed and only fitted when needed.
